Credit from Salvadoran banks grew 6.9 percent

Private banks in El Salvador have given 6.9 percent more credits over the last 12 months up to June this year, according to data from the Salvadoran bank association.

Consumer credits were at number one, accounting for 30 percent of the total credits in the period, or $2.9 billion.

Mortgages came in second place, with $2.26 billion, which represents 23 percent of the total.
