Cyber-crime in Panama on the rise

Thursday, September 11, 2014

Forty-seven out of 100 Panamanians are victims of cyber-crime, and among the targets are bank accounts.

Cyber-crime in the Central American country grew 30 percent between 2012 and 2013, according to a study by the Organization of American States.

The figures have caused concern in the country's financial sector, as customers have shown less trust towards internet banking.
