Customer distrust has weighed on mobile banking growth in Guatemala.
In the first quarter of 2016, there were 715,000 users of mobile banking services, compared with the 708,000 in the same period a year ago.
In the first half of the year, the country’s Superintendent of Banks received 1,749 complaints, of which 67 were for credit card cloning and 130 were identity theft cases.
