Drought is critical with no end in sight

The drought in Central America is critical and there are no mechanisms to help people to adapt to it, Miguel Barreto, director for Latin America of the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization.

The “dry corridor” that includes much of Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras has a population of 4.2 million and at least half of them are near-starvation.
