Drought threatens Canal and all Panama

Business leaders in Panama pleaded with the government to speed up the development of new water works as a drought threatens not only the Canal but also the nation’s population and its economy.

“It’s shameful that a country with our rates of economic growth squanders water and nobody takes any measures to control it," the Chamber of Commerce said in a statement.
