El Salvador aims for success in basic grains harvest

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

El Salvador's Agriculture ministry has forecast a harvest of basic grains this year similar to the one in 2011.

However, last year's targets had to be reduced because of the loss of substantial losses of corn and beans as a result of heavy flooding.

This year, the harvest is expected to produce 22 million quintals of maize and two of beans.
