El Salvador and Taiwan to bolster cooperation

Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou signed a joint communique with his Salvadoran counterpart Salvador Sanchez Ceren in the Central American nation to confirm bilateral cooperation projects over the next five years.

The two countries acknowledged the efficiency and transparency of their bilateral cooperation over the past five years and pledged to continue an efficient and transparent use of resources to meet El Salvador's development needs.

Sánchez Ceren described Ma's visit as a "critical and important moment," as it coincides with efforts by the new government to promote various social and economic reforms.
