El Salvador breached CAFTA rules: Costa Rica

Costa Rica accused El Salvador of breaking rules in the Dominican Republic-Central America Free Trade Agreement.

The Costa Rican government said El Salvador is charging duties on the free trade zone exports of tires and fruit juice concentrates, both included among the products exempt from paying duties according to CAFTA regulations.

Costa Rica has requested an arbitration panel to mediate and help bring an end to the trade conflict.
