El Salvador confirms Sanchez Ceren victory

El Salvador's electoral tribunal confirmed current vice president Salvador Sánchez Cerén as the winner of the country's presidential elections.

Sánchez Cerén, of the ruling FMLN party, won with 50.1 percent of the vote, while his opponent Norman Quijano, of the ARENA party, took 49.9 percent.

The electoral tribunal rejected the opposition's calls for a recount on allegations of fraud.
