El Salvador diversifies its export offer

Friday, April 11, 2014

El Salvador has increased its exports of garments, cane sugar, toilet paper and flour, among others, as other of its more traditional exports have seen a drop.

El Salvador's sales grew 4 percent last year, a substantial increase for the country, said Jeremy Harris, economist at the Inter-American Development Bank.

He added that Salvadoran products are popular even where there has been a drop in the global market.
