El Salvador fails to reach coffee goal
Monday, January 12, 2015
El Salvador's 2014-2015 coffee harvest will produce 800,000 quintals, President Salvador Sánchez Ceren said.
The figure is lower than the 1.2 million quintals the government had originally forecast.
"We have worked with the coffee sector in order to boost production. We know it has been hit by coffee rust fungus, and that has affected our original production forecast," the leader said.
