El Salvador gets serious about renewable power

El Salvador announced it will opened a tender for the generation of 15 megawatts of renewable energy.

The project is part of the government's aim to reduce the country's dependence of fossil fuels.

The government expects to generate the 15 megawatts through projects that include solar power, hydroelectric and biogas.
