El Salvador hosts geothermal training center for region

The Inter-American Development Bank has awarded a grant for approximately $2 million that will help El Salvador establish a geothermal energy training center for Latin America and the Caribbean.

The center will enable other countries to develop their capacities to exploit geothermal energy as a renewable energy source.

The project will provide the only theoretical and practical graduate-level training in geothermal energy available in Latin America and the Caribbean.
