El Salvador once again rejects purchase of Telefónica by Claro

El Salvador's competition authority once again rejected the proposed purchase of Spain's Telefónica by Claro, the brand of Mexico's América Móvil, which is controlled by the tycoon Carlos Slim.

The authority rejected the most recent request on the grounds of the alleged concentration of economic power in the country's telecommunications sector, Efe reports in English.
