El Salvador plastic exports surge 60 percent in 4 years

El Salvador's plastic product exports increased almost 60 percent between 2009 and 2012, according to figures from the country's central bank.
In January-November last year exports reached $284 million compared to $178 million in the same period 2009, local press reported.
Approximately $223 million or 78 percent of total exports are shipped to Central America, with Guatemala alone accounting for $81 million in 2012.
