Monday, November 14, 2011
El Salvador received $3 billion in remittances from emigrants in the United States this year through October, a 5.8 percent year-on-year increase.
In October, $299 million was received, 11 percent more in annual terms and the highest figure for any month this year.
The increase in the remittances are believed to have increased as a result of a reduction in unemployment in the United States.
