El Salvador reports 2 percent growth in tourism for first half of the year

Tourism grew by more than 2 percent in the first half of this year in El Salvador compared to a similar period in 2010.

Minister of Tourism Jose Napoleon Duarte Jr. said that the industry was heading for reaching this year´s projections of 4 percent.

From June 2010 to May 2011, 3.9 percent growth was registered, with 1.50 million visitors, according to official figures.
