El Salvador's exports drop 5.5 percent

El Salvador's exports dropped 5.5 percent in the first half of the year, compared with the same period in 2013, the country's central bank said.

During that period, El Salvador exported goods worth $2.66 billion, $154 million less than the first half of 2013.

Exports to the U.S., El Salvador's largest trading partner, dropped by $39 million to $1.19 billion, a 3 percent drop.
