Friday, January 16, 2015

The International Monetary Fund said El Salvador should increase its sales tax from 13 to 15 percent.

The Fund also said the Central American country should consider adding a property tax.

According to a document released by the Fund, El Salvador has to "increase its sales tax by two percentage points, supported by an increase in social programs so as to lessen the impact on people living in poverty".
