El Salvador to receive baby food aid from South Korea. Offer was rejected by Pyongyang’s communist authorities

Friday, December 9, 2011

South Korea has decided to donate baby food originally designated as aid for North Korea to El Salvador, two months after Seoul dropped its original aid offer to North Korea.

South Korea proposed 830,000 packs of baby food as part of its $4.4 million in emergency relief aid to North Korean flood victims earlier this year.

South Korea dropped the aid offer in October, however, due to disagreement with North Korea on the items to be sent. South Korea had insisted it would deliver baby food, biscuits and instant noodles to the North, instead of the cement and equipment its communist neighbor had requested.
