Energy costs take toll on Costa Rica industry

High energy costs are affecting Costa Rica's industry competitiveness, the country's Chamber of Industry said.

Industry representatives have proposed the government to eliminate fuel tax and reform the electricity market to improve the sector's performances, Costa Rican daily La República reported.

They also asked for less procedures, as well as more sustainability and support for small and medium enterprises.
