Environment plays key role for Panama banks

Environmental issues are starting to affect the way Panamanian banks handle credit operations.

Some banks take into account environmental risks associated to an investment before approving a transaction.

"Panamanian banks take three aspects into account when considering a transaction: financial, social and environmental", said Raúl Preciado, vice president of risk assessment at Banco General.
