Environmentalists demand bill for moratorium in mining concessions for Panama

Panamanian environmentalist organizations presented the Congress with a bill for a moratorium in the award of open-cast mining concessions.
Meanwhile, the government is promoting a bill to change the mining law to boost foreign investment.
According to the environmentalists, some 40 percent of the territory of Panama is subject to requests for mining concessions.
