Europe puts a brake on Panama’s growth

Wednesday, December 7, 2011

Panama’s economy is heading for robust growth this year, but it will slow down in 2012, as will inflation.

The problem is caused by the economic problems facing Europe which are provoking price increases in raw materials and a reduction in exports by Latin American countries.

The forecasts are provided by the International Monetary Fund and by the economic studies department of the Spanish bank BBVA.
