Europe to help boost Nicaragua's wood production
The European Union and Nicaragua's National Forestry Institute have agreed to start a project aimed at boosting the country's wood production and furniture sector.
The project aims to improve companies' technical and business skills, in order for them to contribute more to Nicaragua's economy.
Nicaragua has some 3.2 million hectares of woodland, most of which has the potential to boost the sector, said Ivo Gombala, a European Union delegation director.
