Europe trade chief visits US and Central America in bid to foster transatlantic ties

European Union Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht will travel to the United States and Central America this week to foster transatlantic trade ties.

In Washington, De Gucht will meet with representatives of the US Administration.

Later, in Guatemala, he will meet with Central American trade and foreign ministers before going on to Central America.
