FA Party proposes Petrocaribe for Costa Rica

Costa Rican leftist party Frente Amplio, FA, has proposed the incorporation of Costa Rica into the Venezuelan-led oil alliance Petrocaribe.

According to party members, joining Petrocaribe would help bring down energy prices by 26 percent for fuels and 40 percent for electricity.

Fuel prices in Costa Rica have reached historic highs, and FA party members said Petrocaribe is the only option the country has to find a solution to those prices.
