Few Panama companies venture overseas but they are successful

Panama is well known as a magnet for foreign investment. By contrast, not many of the nation’s companies have ventured overseas.

Those that have done so, however, have done very well. By the very nature of their business, Copa Airlines and Bladex have been successful.

So too has insurance company ASSA, while Banco General has launched offshoots in Costa Rica and elsewhere in the region.
