Firms in region lack foreign trade know-how

Thursday, November 28, 2013

Forty-five percent of exporting companies in Central America, and 73 percent of importers, lack internal departments for foreign trade.

The situation makes it difficult for the companies to boost their international operations, according to a study by Red Global de Exportación, RGX.

"There is also a lack of innovation and added value, particularly in agro-industry," said Antonio Edrawe Murad, president of Grupo Exporta de México, during a seminar in Nicaragua.
