First Quantum cuts the costs of Cobre Panamá
Canada's First Quantum Minerals said it suspended contracts with some of its partners, including SNC-Lavalin Group, at the Cobre Panamá project.
The suspension of contracts is an effort to cut down costs after taking over Inmet Mining last month.
Cobre Panamá will be Central America's largest copper mine, and is expected to produce 300,000 tons a year when it starts operating in 2016.
