FMLN candidate favoured in El Salvador run-off

Salvador Sanchez Ceren is favored to win an election run-off in El Salvador on Sunday against the capital city's mayor Norman Quijano.

Sanchez Ceren, of the FMLN party, will inherit the tasks of fighting grinding poverty and rampant gang violence.

The FMLN fell just shy of an outright victory in the first round on February 2 with 49 percent of the votes, when it needed 50 percent plus one vote.
