Foreign investment to Guatemala up 5 percent

 

Guatemala received $1.3 billion in foreign direct investment last year, the Bank of Guatemala said.

The figure is 5 percent higher than the $1.24 billion the country received in 2012.

Of the total, 38 percent went to the agriculture and mining sectors, followed by trade, with 16 percent, and energy with almost 14 percent.
