Four new assembly plants get ready in Honduras

Monday, January 7, 2019

Four foreign assembly plants under the "maquiladora" legislation are preparing their paperwork in order to get underway in Honduras in the first half of the year. The new plants aim to hire a total of 2,000 workers.

Sources in the Economic Development department refused to reveal the identity of the newcomers, but they said that the biggest investment is in the growing sector of building electric harnesses for cars.

One other project was described as a soya processing plant to be built by a company from Taiwan.
