Garbage collectors join Panama wave of strikes

Panama’s garbage collectors, who pick up some 1,500 tonnes of trash from the city every day, have announced an indefinite duration strike from Monday April 13.

The Association of Workers of the Cleaning Authority and Urban Household (AAUD), led by general secretary Clementina Ward, want to be included in the discussion of Bill 173 in which "comprehensive waste management and a zero waste culture is established”.
