Gas plant will be key to AES contract in Panama

AES announced that its contract to supply 350 megawatts of new capacity to Panama’s power utility Etesa will include the construction of a combined cycle natural gas-fired plant with a 10-year power purchase agreement.

It also includes a 170,000 cubic meters LNG storage tank and regasification facility, to supply gas to the plant, as well as to potentially serve growing demand for natural gas in Central America.
