GDF Suez Energy refurbished coal-fired plant comes on stream after six- month delay

The Bahía las Minas power plant in Panama was converted to coal six months after schedule, GDF Suez Energy, the French-Belgian company reported.

The plant was due to renew operations in January but the Italian engineering company Sadelmi went bankrupt.

Sadelmi had won the contract for the construction of the plant’s boiler. GDF Suez was obliged to find a new contractor.
