Goodbye strikes! Costa Rican unions must revise strategy

Automatic wage cuts for strikers in Costa Rica, along with a ban on protests in essential services such as health and security, have stripped the labor unions of their traditional weapons.

The unions are now obliged to back their complaints by lobbying Congress or creating leaders who can promote labor organizations' interests in the political realm, La República reports in Spanish.
