Guatemala delays accord with Europe

Friday, October 25, 2013

The association agreement between Europe and Central America was delayed for at least a month in Guatemala.

The country's Economy Minister, Sergio de la Torre, has said the accord was set to come into effect on November 1, but will now have to wait one more month.

The delay is due to eight complaints made in September this year by Italy, France and Spain over rules of origin, which have yet to be resolved.
