Guatemala emergency over anti-mining riots

Guatemala declared a state of emergency in the southeast of the country, due to deadly protests against a silver mine project.

The protests are against El Escobal silver mine, a project by Canada's Tahoe Resources.

Two people have been killed during the protests, while six more were injured last Saturday.
