Guatemala extends its deadline for bids to explore and produce in oil blocks

Guatemala’s Ministry of Energy and Mines has extended the deadline to place bids to explore several oil blocks.

The new deadline will be May 17, sources said. The delay was requested by companies interested in the auction, the ministry says.

Industry sources say that companies that have checked information in the data room include Brazil’s Petrobras and Spain’s Repsol.
