Guatemala has the fastest mobile Internet

Guatemala has the fastest mobile broadband in the region, both for uploads and downloads, according to a study (Spanish only) by the Economic Commission for LatinAmerica and the Caribbean.

Download speeds are above 6 megabits per second, higher than the Latin American average of 3 Mbps.

Honduras is second in the isthmus, with 6 Mbps, while El Salvador is last with a bit more than 1 Mbps.

Globally Denmark is number one, with 23 mbps, while Equatorial Guinea is at less than 1 Mbps.

The study uses data provided by Regional Broadband Observatory (Spanish only) and Ookla.
