Guatemala is regional laggard in infrastructure

Thursday, September 13, 2018

Guatemala is the biggest country in the region but it is very small in terms of infrastructure, according to a report from the Secretary of Economic Integration of Central America.

It has only two international airports, while Costa Rica and Honduras have four and Panama seven.

Solo tiene dos de los 20 aeropuertos internacionales que tiene Centroamérica.  Honduras y Costa. The region has 43 ports, and Guatemala has only four.

In addition, Guatemala has been looking ground in terms of infrastructure. The parlous state of the roads is one example, and the main airport was excluded from the A-list of acceptable terminals by the US aviation authorities.
