Guatemala prepares credit card safety measures

A series of consumer control measures, along with a mass distribution of cards with security chips, will be applied throughout Guatemala, said Gabriel Pascual, director of MasterCard in the country.

The aim is to prevent card forgery and cloning, Pascual said.

The measures will be implemented together with Visa, who also has a strong presence in Guatemala.
