Guatemala's Cementos Progreso aims to open up the cement market in Honduras

Monday, January 16, 2012

Guatemala-based Cementos Progreso is interested in investing in Honduras. If it does invest, it will break the stranglehold of the industry by two companies.

The two have been under fire over accusations of inflating prices. The industry minister, Francisco Zelaya, has called for more cement companies to invest in the country.

Representatives of Cemenos Progreso met with Porfirio Lobo, the Honduran president, at the inauguration in Guatemala of the new president there, Otto Pérez.
