Guatemala's exports grow 4 percent

Friday, August 8, 2014

Guatemala exported goods worth $5.48 billion in the first half of the year, compared with the same period last year, the Bank of Guatemala said.

The figure represents a 4 percent increase, or $213 million more, than the first half of 2013.

Exports of products such as banana and lead saw an increase in the period, while others such as garments, coffee and sugar registered drops in both earnings and volume.
