Friday, November 12, 2010

The government of Guatemala is analyzing the construction of the first line of a light metro system for the capital. It would be 13 kilometers long and have some 2.8 million passengers.

A feasibility study for the metro has been drawn up by Systra and Cooteban, two French firms. The government is now looking at how to finance the project.

With a light metro system, transport in the capital would be improved immeasurably.
