Guatemala’s natural rubber exports rose by 70 percent last year on auto revival

Last year’s recovery of the international auto industry boosted Guatemala’s exports of natural rubber by 70 percent.

Exports of natural rubber reached $219 million last year, some $90 million more than in 2009.

However, exports in 2009 dropped by 30 percent compared with 2008 to $184 million.
