Guatemala's oil production is in decline because of lack of investment in drilling

Wednesday, February 1, 2012

Guatemala's oil production has almost halved between 2000 and the present.

Of the 7.5 million barrels extracted in 2000, production has fallen to 3.9 million last year.

The fall has been attributed to the exhaustion of some wells as well as the lack of investment in drilling to open more.
