Guatemala shows concern over coffee prices

Friday, November 1, 2013

International coffee prices are dropping at a rate of $2 daily, with no improvement in sight.

The situation worries Guatemalan coffee growers, who are unable to cover production costs, according to Nils Lepowski, president of the country's coffee association.

"When prices go down, production is affected, coffee growers hold back investment and in some cases have to let workers go," said Lepowski.
