Guatemala’s private sector is hoping to win over the confidence of Otto Pérez, the nation’s president-elect.

“We hope him to work hand in hand with the private sector,” said Carolina Castellanos, president of the American Chamber.

Andrés Castillo, head of the Industry Chamber, said the main problem that the new president will have to face is crime, which is a major economic burden for business.
